Remember tomorrows wod is a team wod you will need to meet up with your teammates and do the wod together if you need someones # let me know I have everyones #. The following is an email from Kenny please read it, he out lines some of the concearns we have had as we move further into the league and some easy solutions. I’m so proud of all of you who are competeing. Every week you dig deep and find another gear and that is what good training and good community and do for you keep up the GREAT work.

Okay, so we are 3 weeks down, and 3 more to go in the league!!

Last week had a difficult movement to judge in the workout, and yes, there should have been a lot more “NO REP” flying all over the room.  I understand you feel bad to not count a rep when you feel someone is going the best they possibly can. All athletes deserve a huge applaud. (Which you do, because that WOD was brutal).  This is not the crossfit open, regionals, or the games, but people have paid money to compete.  Maybe they have paid for the camaraderie and experience, and I am for that as well, but imagine the feeling of giving it your all and being beat by someone you feel wasn’t completing reps properly. We can watch the video, and say “he is not doing it correctly”, but at the end of the day it is not the athletes fault.  It is the judge’s fault for not saying anything to correct the faulty movement.  I also know we can’t beat the judges up too bad, because they are volunteers (by the way thanks for all the help you give guys!).

So my proposal is for the certified trainers too step up and help the judge no rep the athlete.  This means if you are certified and not judging anyone yourself, go around the room and monitor form.  This might also give the judge who is shy about saying no rep the confidence and knowledge to say no rep.  I am not saying to be a butthead about it, but help the person out and tell them, or show them what he or she needs to do to have a good rep.

I have been to numerous competitions, and I have been no repped a lot myself!  Does it make me mad…YES!  I also get over it very fast, and learn what I need to do to better.  I recently went to a comp and they had pull-ups in the WOD.  I was doing butterfly pull-ups and my judge was at an angle to where she couldn’t see my chin going above the bar, and she probably no repped me 20 times or so during this WOD.  I was mad, but at the end of the day she is not getting paid to do that all day long.  I ended up fixing it by just doing kipping which was easier for her to judge.  Meaning: sometimes it’s not fair, but you have to think of ways to better your situation.  By the way this cost my team getting into the last heat of the event…EPIC FAILURE!! LOL
